  1. Bobby Locke won 4 Open Championship in a relatively brief career shortened by service in WWII and a dreadful accident in his early 40s. He should be ahead of most of the golfers in your list! Zach Johnson? David Toms? George Archer? Gimme a break!

    1. You are quite right, Bobby Locke should have been included in our Top 100 (Top 20 in fact). We are making the correction–thank you and please let us know if you see any other errors or omissions.

  2. Nice list!

Do you in any way factor-in accomplishments not related to either major championships or the PGA Tour? It’s not easy to do. Golfers such as Player, Els, Locke, Norman, Montgomery, and others piled up significant achievements outside of the USA and the majors.

Mickelson over Watson is a tough call:
Phil— longevity, consistently competitive in majors for most of 20+ years.
Watson— was a clear #1 in the world for a time, enjoyed success in direct competition with the guy listed here as #1 all-time.
    🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Walter Hagen’s last name is misspelled.

    1. Thanks for the feedback! (and we corrected the the typo on Walter Hagen). Major championship performance carries the most weight, followed by PGA Tour wins–but DP World Tour wins and “World Wins” (wins on other tours) are also factored in. Cut percentage and Top 10 percentage is given significant consideration as well.
