After taking a look through the record books, Scheffler\u2019s opening run in the \u201924 season ranks at the very top since 1960\u2014with only Tiger (of course) putting up a comparable record through the first 10 starts of the year in his monumental 2000 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"398\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Tiger_2000.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5536\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.8963963963963963;width:190px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Tiger_2000.jpg 398w, https:\/\/golfday.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Tiger_2000-269x300.jpg 269w, https:\/\/golfday.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Tiger_2000-242x270.jpg 242w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Tiger: The Greatest Year<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tiger 2000<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With 9 victories including 3 Major championship wins and a T5 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masters.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">The Masters<\/mark><\/a>, the 2000 season was undoubtedly the greatest of Tiger\u2019s amazing career. Johnny made the cut in 20 of 22 starts with 13 Top-10\u2019s and recorded 8 wins that year, and started the season sizzling hot with 3 consecutive wins (Crosby Pro-Am\/Pebble Beach, <a href=\"https:\/\/wmphoenixopen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">The Phoenix Open<\/mark><\/a> and The Tucson Open). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through his first 10 events, Johnny recorded 6 Top-10\u2019s with 4 wins\u2014a fantastic start to the season. In 29 starts, Vijay recorded 18 Top-10\u2019s with 9 wins including The PGA Championship at <a href=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/golf-courses2\/3663-Sahalee-Country-Club.html\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Sahalee<\/mark><\/a>, while missing the cut just once. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first 10 starts of \u201904 Vijay was terrific, making the cut in 9 of 10 events with 5 Top-10\u2019s including a win, a runner-up and a T6 at The Masters\u2014but still not close to the numbers Scheffler has put up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Road Ahead<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No doubt Scottie takes it one round at a time, one tournament at a time, and that\u2019s good&#8211;because if he looks hard at what it will take to match Tiger for the rest of the year, it may bring on a panic attack. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scheffler will need to win 4 more times, including 2 additional majors, without missing a cut \u2014while recording 8 more Top-10\u2019s and throw in a T5 at the fourth major to boot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the way Scheffler is hitting the ball right now, and the confidence he exudes with every shot, it certainly brings back images of Tiger at the height of his powers\u2014but can Scottie keep it up? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll have to watch and see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"242\" height=\"159\" src=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/3705_Valhalla_GC.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5544\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.5220125786163523;width:295px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville KY<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Upcoming Events<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This week the Tour is in New Orleans for the <a href=\"https:\/\/zurichgolfclassic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Zurich Classic<\/mark><\/a> (April 25-28), and then heads to&nbsp; Dallas for the <a href=\"https:\/\/thecjcupbyronnelson.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">CJ CUP Byron Nelson<\/mark><\/a> (May 2-5) at <a href=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/golf-courses2\/3768-TPC-Craig-Ranch-Golf-Course.html\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">TPC Craig Ranch<\/mark><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:17px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Next up is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellsfargochampionship.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Wells Fargo Championship<\/mark><\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/golf-courses2\/2611-Quail-Hollow-Country-Club.html\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Quail Hollow<\/mark><\/a> in Charlotte, NC (May 9-12) along with the inaugural playing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/myrtlebeachclassic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Myrtle Beach Classic<\/mark><\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/golf-courses2\/2296-The-Dunes-Golf-and-Beach-Club.html\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">The Dunes Golf and Beach Club<\/mark><\/a> (May 9-12) , followed by the second major of the year\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pgachampionship.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">The PGA Championship<\/mark><\/a> (May 16-19) at <a href=\"https:\/\/golfday.us\/golf-courses2\/3705-Valhalla-Golf-Club.html\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Valhalla Golf Club<\/mark><\/a> in Louisville, KY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Looking to plan a golf trip?
